Rumpza Consulting, founded in 2007, is focused on clear, concise communication that improves the reputation of your organization, products or services.  We help organizations tell their story effectively and forcefully.


The tools are strategic communications planning, sharp writing, precise message development and pinpoint positioning. The result is a well-planned, well-executed communications strategy.   communications programs and get results.


Bob has worked inside non-profit organizations, corporations and communications agencies.  His agency career includes: Global public relations firm Weber Shandwick (Executive Vice President of Corporate Relations); marketing communications agency Nicholson Kovac (Senior Vice President, Public Relations); and his own firm. He has designed and managed communications programs for dozens of clients. A representative sample includes:

Prior to joining the agency world, Bob worked in public relations inside corporations, including Communications Director positions at Control Data Corporation, The Pillsbury Company and Green Giant Co.  He also was communications director and lobbyist for an agricultural organization. 


He has two community service roles in directing AmeriCorps volunteerism in Minnesota: He is a member of the executive committee of the ServeMinnesota board of directors and Board Chair of Reading & Math Inc, which delivers the Minnesota Reading Corps and Minnesota Math Corps to more than 33,000 of the state's students. Reading & Math Inc  also serves another 10,000  students in a dozen additional states.  He is a member of the Professional Advisory Board for CLAgency, a student-run agency within the University of Minnesota's College of Liberal Arts.  He is a volunteer with Reading Partners and Second Harvest Heartland.


He is a University of Minnesota School of Journalism alumnus, was named an Alumnus of Notable Achievement by the University’s College of Liberal Arts and is winner of the Silver Anvil of the Public Relations Society of America for his crisis communications work.
